Cara Sur Criolla Chica 2020

We used the 2021 vintage of this wine in our March release "sud," featuring wines sourced from around South America. It was this vintage that made us want to feature Cara Sur's Criolla Chica in a release, and even to center that release around interesting wines from unique grapes around South America.

An exceptionally delicious light red from Argentina's Valle de Calingasta, this is produced from old vine parcels of the Criolla Chica grape, which goes by the name of País in Chile, and Listán Prieto everywhere else that it grows. This is the essence of a chillable red: put it in the fridge for an hour, and appreciate how it makes the light tannins grip just a bit more, and finishes bright and tangy. It's a perfect Spring red, to enjoy as the weather starts to warm up and you start to cook on the grill more.
