Jean-Charles Girard-Madoux Mondeuse 2018

Mondeuse is an ancient grape variety native to the mountains of eastern France. It’s smoky, peppery, and brambly. If you feel like something fuller-bodied than beaujolais, this is a nice medium-weight wine that’s perfect with richer or lighter foods.
Tasting note: Boysenberries, woodsmoke, toasted black peppercorns
Food Pairings: Smoked turkey, sausages, roasted Brussels sprouts
Music pairing: “Love Hurts” by Ashley Monroe, Tyler Cain, and Ruston Kelly
