Domaine Guiberteau 'Clos des Guichaux' Saumur Blanc 2018

Domaine Guiberteau is one of the great Chenin Blanc producers in the world. Situated in Anjou, they make wines from a host of single vineyards, including the great Brézé terroir. Viticulture is organic and winemaking is low-intervention. The focus here is on purity and expression of place.
The Clos de Guichaux was planted in 2003, in the terroir of Bizay in Saumur. It's a site with silt and sand soils, and produces an elegant yet structured style of Chenin Blanc. This wine receieves nine months aging in neutral oak barrels. It's a wine packed with concentrated Chenin flavor: a sense of texture and palate-coating richness that still finishes bone dry.
