Domaine Guiberteau Les Moulins Saumur Blanc 2019

Domaine Guiberteau is one of the great Chenin Blanc producers in the world. Situated in Anjou, they make wines from a host of single vineyards, including the great Brézé terroir. Viticulture is organic and winemaking is low-intervention. The focus here is on purity and expression of place. I just adore the tension and energy present in every bottle of Guiberteau. Of special interest are their reds, too–I used to find them a bit horsey, but they've cleaned up nicely and now provide wonderfully clean, terroir-expressive Cabernet Franc drinking.
This is their "Les Moulins" bottling, taken from vines of various age around Saumur, including some from Brézé. This sees no oak, but rather spends its time on the lees in stainless steel, hence the tremendous acidity and tension this exhibits.
