Domaine Guiberteau Breze Saumur Blanc 2017

Domaine Guiberteau is one of the great Chenin Blanc producers in the world. Situated in Anjou, they make wines from a host of single vineyards, including the great Brézé terroir. Viticulture is organic and winemaking is low-intervention. The focus here is on purity and expression of place. 

Brézé is the holy grail of dry Chenin Blanc. While many other styles abound in the Loire Valley, it's this vineyard that has planted the flag for a blisteringly dry, steely-yet-unctuous style of Chenin Blanc. Guiberteau stands amongst the greats like Clos Rougeard and Domaine du Collier, whose interpretation of the Brézé vineyard is the stuff of legend.

This is powerful Chenin Blanc, ripe but restrained, intense but delicate.
