Benedicte & Stephane Tissot Cremant de Jura Rose NV

Crémant is the hidden gem wine of France. Take the same grapes that are grown in Champagne, the same soulful and detailed French winemaking expertise, and the same production process as the best sparkling wines in the world, and you have Crémant. These wines are often a fraction of the price of Champagne as well, which makes them a killer buy.

This is made from 60% Pinot Noir, 20% Poulsard, and 20% Trousseau. It spends 18 months aging on its lees before being disgorged. 

As you lift your nose to the glass, it is easy to see why we loved it. Dried rose petals, cranberries, and raspberry yogurt mingle with fresh sea spray and toasted walnuts. The palate is a rush of tangy red fruit notes, Rooibos tea, and vanilla bean

I think this wine does best on a deck, with a plate of salumi, cheese and pickled vegetables. It's perfect on the couch with truffle popcorn too. Or, on a boat in the sunshine, sloshing around in your glass while you soak up the rays. It's made to fit whatever feels worthy of celebration, even if that's just a day of yardwork.
